Indistinguishable From Magic: Rebooting the... →
I love the redesigns but coming from a writer’s point of view… I see some problems with some of the character origins and powers in this incarnation. I hope Aaron doesn’t take this the wrong way, I love the origin and new powers of Diana and Cyborg (for example, he would make much more sense in fighting the authorities than Superman, with his mighty hacking skills)…...

Comics Should Be For Everyone →
Quoting this whole text would become quoting a quote within a quote… so PLEASE click on through to read a beautiful real-life example of why comics are so awesome.
Also, I’d like to add how much I love “Atomic Robo” ever since it first started coming out, although I didn’t have a chance to get the latest storyline.

Cartooning vs. Technology: How Steve Jobs Ruined... →
This is a terrible, terrible text for oh so many reasons (most of which have been mentioned already) but it made me think: how much space do we have in the modern times to make comics (especially comic strips) without any technology whatsoever in them?
I’ve been doing it somewhat successfully for the past year and a half with Kid Amnesia and I keep making new adventures often intentionally...

New Orleans Today →
What’s this got to do with art? Everything! Besides the destruction of one of the most artistic cities of the world, these issues are regularly discussed in the greatest TV show on Earth - HBO’s Treme. Watch it, learn it, do something about it if you possibly can.
Anyone who reads this post from New Orleans please post your photo reply (something beautiful, something despicable, but...

One thing I enjoy about (some, especially older) Science Fiction is this long, epic so to speak, perception of time; of planetary and societal development and demise. It’s usually not so different from taking historical patterns and putting them into modern contexts so that we may glimpse what the futures may hold. Of course, intertwined with new technologies, these kinds of stories have...

The First Avenger Thoughts and Misc.
After trudging through the rain-laden Sarajevo streets to catch a 9PM showing of Captain America, I have to admit: it is much more entertaining than Thor. Two movies I’ve looked forward the most this summer haven’t disappointed me the least and the Cap had me laughing out-loud a few times. I guess the old WWII camaraderie still gets to me. Plus, movie Peggy being much hotter than the...

Fan Letters Pages
Today DC Comics announced they will open up the old “letters page” to the 21. century public. I guess the dudes in charge of things over there finally got the chance to give something back to the readers, something most of them never even got to do.
And a lot of people are wondering: what’s the deal with this “letter” business? Who writes letters anymore anyway,...

#3 GRAN
This is such an awesome idea and the realization, really well done.
portraitdex:
“GRAN is a Pokemon who always looks grumpy, but is really just squinting most of the time. You can find it lurking in garages, scrawling on surfaces and listening to Pokerap.”

This is an excellent albeit simple investigation into the comic book page. I love the character Bonom, soooo much unused potential.
